Developing Software – Since 1982.
Someone might ask – how do you become and expert in web development and traditional software? Answer: Because I have a long career path and a lot of experience spanning more than three decades.
To put it in perspective, when Steve Jobs released the original NeXT Cube, I had 5 years programming experience. At that time, (1987), I developed business and database applications for MSDOS before there even was an MS-Windows.
Nowadays development differs a lot from those days. We have version control (git), we use an Issue Tracker, and Agile Methods. Memory is more, CPU is more, IDE’s radically enhance developer productivity. Any professional developer has to keep these skills current.
I have a lot more code than what’s up there – so just ask if you want to see more work samples.
This story is not hard to follow. Web development became good for consulting business in the late 1990’s – before that I was doing applications, on Windows and Unix (and DOS).
And now that C/C++ is making a comeback in HPC applications, I am excited about Parallel Computing as we move into the future.
